Panthera Onca/Going Going Gone
- Designers Lotte Lawson
This project highlights the current state of decline in the Amazon by focusing on the predicament of one threatened species.
The visuals relate to the language of consumerism and the loud, often brash, dialect that it co-ops. Here, the jaguar is just another object to buy and consume. Cheap shop signs that scream ‘Going Going Gone’ or ‘Last Few Remaining’ are often printed on fluorescent card in large and overbearing type. I wanted to borrow that vernacular to highlight the plight of the jaguar and emphasise the human-driven nature of the crisis.
