Make An Impact
- Designers Chloe McKinley
Since 1950 an estimated 9.2 billion tons of plastic has been produced, with 79% accumulated in the natural environment. This project aims to educate and promote change around the over-reliance on plastic.
The concept for the project focused on the word “impact”, as the issue is something that can no longer be ignored. This impact would be achieved through the use of bold and somewhat forceful imagery which incorporates the macabre.
The final poster series contains ten A2 posters over five themes. Collages and photography were used to emphasis that the issue is in the real world, and the typography was deliberately used to make the audience feel uneasy. The posters are printed on G.F. Smith Extract, which recycles coffee cups and offers a range of bright shades.
